FAQ – Understanding the Editions

What is a Fine Art Print?

A Fine Art Print is a high-quality art reproduction created to museum standards – printed with long-lasting pigment inks on specially designed, age-resistant Fine Art paper or canvas.
These prints are known for their exceptional color brilliance, fine detail, and archival durability – in my case, for example, on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper or canvas.

Each edition is born in close dialogue with the original work and is released in a limited series, signed and numbered by hand.

Which materials are used?

  • Fine Art Edition:
Hahnemühle Fine Art paper, delivered rolled or mounted in a passe-partout, unframed.
Printed using pigment-based inks (Giclée print).
  • Varnish Edition:
Hahnemühle Fine Art canvas, stretched on a wooden frame and hand-finished with a glossy varnish.
  • Rebirth Edition:
Hahnemühle Fine Art canvas, stretched on a wooden frame, painted over with acrylic and oil, then sealed with a special protective varnish.

What is varnish?

Varnish is a transparent coating traditionally used in painting to enhance depth, protect colors, and seal the surface.
In the Varnish Edition, each print is hand-finished by Lilith Claudino with a glossy varnish – applied gently and with a technique of her own.

The varnish:

  • Protects – from environmental influences such as moisture and dust
  • Deepens – the colors and brings the visual impact of the artwork to life
  • Refines – both visually and to the touch – like a second skin over the image

What is the "Lilith Claudino Varnish Refinement"?

The Lilith Claudino Varnish Refinement is a hand-applied finishing process developed by the artist herself, in which selected Fine Art prints on canvas are individually enhanced with a glossy varnish.

This method goes far beyond mere protection:
It deliberately intensifies color dynamics, accentuates light and surface structure, and gives the artwork a unique sense of depth – like a second skin.

Each layer is applied with sensitivity, precision, and an intuitive understanding of the composition’s message, tension, and visual balance.
The surface doesn’t simply shine – it radiates presence.

This technique transforms a high-quality print into a distinctive collector’s piece with soul and character.
It forms the bridge between technical reproduction and true artistic expression.

What is the “Rebirth Technique”?

The Rebirth Technique is an independent artistic method developed by Lilith Claudino, in which selected Fine Art prints on canvas are reworked in a gestural, intuitive process using acrylic, oil, and varnish.

What emerges is not merely an overpainting – but a profound emotional reinterpretation of the artwork:
Color accents are shifted, depth intensified, sources of light reimagined, structures transformed.

The process unfolds in a tension between control and surrender.
Each intervention is an autonomous act – not a decorative add-on, but a true transformation.

In this way, each print becomes a tangible one-of-a-kind piece – with its own story, its own energy, its own identity.

The Rebirth Edition is far more than a Fine Art print with added paint.
It is an artistic rebirth – for collectors who seek the extraordinary and feel the unseen.

Is a frame included?

By default, all works are offered unframed.
Upon request, a refined framing option is available for the Fine Art Edition – I’m happy to offer personal guidance.

What is the difference between the three editions?

  • Fine Art Edition
A pure Fine Art print of the highest quality – ideal for collectors who value the work in its clear, unaltered form.
  • Varnish Edition
The same artwork, printed on canvas and stretched onto a wooden frame, then hand-finished with the Lilith Claudino Varnish Refinement – adding depth, presence, and brilliance.
  • Rebirth Edition
Also printed on canvas and stretched, but reinterpreted using the Rebirth Technique with acrylic, oil, and varnish.
Each piece becomes a one-of-a-kind artwork with its own powerful language and identity.

What does “one-of-a-kind” mean in the Rebirth Edition?

Each piece in the Rebirth Edition is individually transformed – no two interventions are ever alike.
Through these artistic gestures, every work becomes a singular creation with its own energy and essence.
It exists in this exact form only once – unrepeatable, unmistakable, uniquely alive.

How are the editions limited?

  • The Fine Art Edition is limited to 111 pieces – regardless of format or size.
  • The Varnish Edition is released in an edition of 55 pieces – also format-independent.
  • The Rebirth Edition consists exclusively of one-of-a-kind originals – no repetition, no edition size.

Will I receive a certificate of authenticity?

All editions are hand-signed and numbered.
Additionally, a Hahnemühle Certificate of Authenticity can be issued for the Fine Art Edition upon request.

Can I view the editions in advance?

Selected works can be seen at exhibitions or by appointment in the studio. Feel free to use the order form or contact me directly for a personal consultation.
