Through the world’s shadows, untouched and unreachable.
About the work
A woman in a golden dress walks towards the viewer. Her eyes are closed, her expression composed. Around her, faces emerge from the darkness; behind her head, a field of golden light opens across the surface.
The shadows remain close, yet her movement continues. The flowing dress and swept hair give direction to an otherwise enclosed space. Light does not erase the darkness: both remain present as she moves through it.
Within Lilith’s Story
Through the Shadows belongs to The Present, the second series of Lilith’s Story. Where Beyond the Shadows asks what it means to rise beyond darkness, this work places the figure within it, already taking the next step.
The painting holds a quiet form of courage: continuing without waiting for every shadow to disappear. The figure’s calm gives the surrounding darkness a different weight.
A closer look

In dialogue with Beyond the Shadows
Beyond the Shadows belongs to The Past; Through the Shadows belongs to The Present. Seen together, the works trace two responses to darkness: rising beyond it and moving through it. The golden figure connects them, while her relationship to the surrounding space changes.
